This is the Supermarine Model 508/529. Originally responding to an Admniralty interest in an undercarriage-less aircraft to operate from the then under discussion flexible deck aircraft carriers, Supermarine came up with this design. When the carrier deck became more conventional, so did the fighters undercarriage. With two prototypes built, wing-sweep data became available, and with the sweep, the type became the prototype of the Supermarine Scimitar, the bottom right picture.
