This is the awesome movie that actually brought me to respect - TopicsExpress

This is the awesome movie that actually brought me to respect Stonewall Jackson. Stephen Lang was a great pick for the role. I hated the fact that many others from Gettysburg were re-casted. I know Lang could not reprise his role as General Picket, but the guy who was cast for that role looked nothing like the Lang version. The guy from Babylon 5 who played General Longstreet did okay, but Tom Berenger made it. And I love Duvall as Robert E Lee, but again, Martin Sheen owed that role in Gettysburg. I loved that Jeff Daniels came back for his role as Chaberlain, but he has changed so much since Gettysburg, and this movie is a prequel as it goes form the beginning of war to the middle. Daniels is always a good actor, and I am glad he reprised his role all the same. But Stephen Lang as Stonewall Jackson made this movie ten levels of awesomeness. Jackson should have been in high political standing of the South at this time instead of in the military. He was the Lincoln of the South. Those two men could have worked together on the slavery problem. Stonewall never would have been nicknamed Stonewall though, and maybe he would have became President. I wonder... anyways, I wish the third movie would come out already! lol But I do wonder who will be cast in these roles? Jackson wont be in it obviously, but those who are alive during the last third of the war will be. I hope the casting will be decent. Oh, I have KILLER ANGELS which the movie Gettysburg is based off of, but now i Need to get the other books. Each of the three Civil War movies is based on a Shaara book. Although I noticed the first name of the author changes, I am wondering if the books were written by brothers? I know of KILLER ANGELS because that is the book that inspired Joss Wheadon to write Firefly. I cant really love either side in the American Civil War, but I do love people, and I love the good character you can find on both sides.I can love the dreams of good people. And the beauty of fighting for what you love. https://youtube/watch?v=VxPXrrZ8bJU&list=RD_LrXRNJ92rU&index=27
