This is the best Layla version i ever heard. For you who dont know who Layla is, she is Pattie Boyd, married to Eric Claptons best friend George Harrison of the Beatles..... The title of the song came around after Eric Clapton read a poem about a princess whose father arranged her marriage to someone she did not love as she was madly in love with someone else (the someone else consequently went mad). The title of the poem was “The story of Layla and Manjun” written by a Persian poet called Nezami, Manjun in Persian means “madman”. Eric actually ask Pattie to leave George Harrison for him... A love triangle which you probably never knew, lmao..... one of my biggest dream is to sit front row watching this two guys rift SULTANS OF SWING and LAYLA then im ready to die or prosecuted with lethal injection, lol
