This is the best political advice that I am going to give to anyone, whether they are aspiring politicians, or politicians who are currently in office... You need to learn from Wisconsin Governor, Scott Walker, about what NOT to do as a magistrate at any level. The major cities in Wisconsin ( EG Madison, Milwaukee) Could very well be the stage for some major civil unrest. If civil unrest happens during YOUR administration, as a result of YOUR APATHY toward the sentiment of YOUR constituents, hey guess what? You failed as a politician, and posterity, which is the ultimate judge of our deeds, will not be very kind to you. Hey listen, if you have an agenda, you have an agenda..However at least make it an effort to seem that you care about your constituents as opposed to just the individuals who are bankrolling your political escapades. If you are going to implement austerity, be very clear and conscience about your methodology. If you are of the wealthy ilk, and have amassed a personal fortune from your past endeavors whether you were an attorney or a businessman, then when public austerity is the trend, then your own personal charity must be the trend too...However, beyond financial charity you must also sincerely, not for the sake of a PR campaign or a photo-op, donate your personal time (because time is more valuable than all the physical wealth in the universe) personal energy and your personal resources to the most marginalized of your constituents. If you are not the wealthy type but live off the public dollar, then lead by example. Cut your own pay, do not live extravagantly, do not display gestures of extravagance, and put into practice what you force upon everyone else. Learn how to use your enemies, and learn how to distrust your friends. If all of this is followed, you will make an effective politician and will not be hated (as much) while you are in office, and posterity will not sentence you toward an eternal death.
