This is the correct way of addressing the issue of a couple of missing/incomplete pieces of homework, when your NT childs teacher, broaches the subject at his Parent/Teacher meeting (take it from me, there WAS a hint of This isnt good enough in her tone. Do you know what ? Im not even going to apologise. If his homework is EVER missing, incomplete, or just plain late, then you will have to understand that, thats a reflection of his life at home. He gets (approx) one hour in the evening when he is allowed (and expected) and has the freedom to be just a kid. Weekends ? More of the same. Im not making excuses for him AND I do realise you probably want to nip this problem in the bud. The incorrect way of dealing with the issue is to demonstrate how good you are at sucking your teeth and shrugging your shoulders on so little friggin sleep. In my biased opinion .. If a hiccup with homework is his Teachers only problem .. The lad is doing well :)
