This is the culmination of a neo liberal economic model that was unleashed on the world in the 70s but only really grew globally as the only game in town once the Cold War ended. The Nordic countries have shown that there is a better, fairer way to run countries. The top 20% in the US have 84% of the wealth, while in Sweden they own 36%. What we are told is far left ideology is middle ground up there. the policies of FF/FG, which we are told are centre right here, are clearly right wing compared to policies that tax the rich, regulate markets and create well run public services. Ordinary people did not realise what they were voting for with FF/PDs until it was too late. The positive changes that are required to make this country and the world in general will take time to implement and can only start happening when people see beyond the mirage that the mainstream media creates and start to understand that real change will only come when we elect Green/Socialist governments
