This is the entire poem by John Trudell. Decolonize your mind. Confront injustice and racism with your art: music, writing, journaling, poetry, dancing, painting, sketching, storytelling, theater, teaching, acting, parenting. From Somewhere Inside My Head The reality of being Being just is We are being being human being Our human is temporary An experience of being In the evolution of being As human beings Our relationship to the reality of power Is in our being being human being In our human form our DNA bone flesh blood Is made up of the metals minerals and liquids Of the earth We are forms of the earth All things and forms of the earth Are made Of the same metals minerals and liquids Earth is the mother All our relations The being part of human and all other forms Is in our relationship to sun sky universe Sunlight is the seed bringing life to The water-bearing womb that is Mother Earth Life is a form of the energy of being All forms of the earth have being Our power in being is in spirit energy essence We manifest our power through our human All things and forms of the earth have The same relationship to sun sky universe Father Sky Mother Earth All our relation As human beings we currently live in an industrial Tech no logic programmed perception of reality We know they (the industrial civilizers―the miners) Can take the bone flesh and blood of the earth Called uranium and fossil fuels of the earth And put it through a mining refinement process And convert its being into a form of energy for fuel This energy is used to feed the machine This mining refinement process produces toxic and Other poisons at all levels of manufacture and uses These toxics and poisons are left to feed on the living In our human form in this industrial tech no logic Programmed perceptional reality The miners mine The being part of human being by programming our intelligence Converting our being into a form of energyfuel used to run The authoritarian obedience obedience is freedom violence and excess Are deified rationalized justified religious salvation Pretense versus reality industrial predator classrooms civilization Industrial tech no logic civilization is the mining process The intelligence of each arriving human generation Is programmed to perceive the reality that meets the needs Of the industrial society each human generation arrives in The human beings are individually and collectively mined This mining also leaves behind poison and toxic waste These poisons are toxics are the fears doubts and insecurity That affect the human beings perceptional reality in such a way The human becomes separate from the being at the expense of being Resulting in human beings viewing life through their fears and inabilities Further compounded by hiding behind masks of pride and progress The mining process appears to have the effect of diminishing the Memory of being of being human being no longer recognizing Ourselves replacing our identities with the industrial identities Of citizen class gender race age religion victims and whatever How many industrial human beings have the experience Of feeling powerless and while having this experience How bad can we make ourselves feel and how does this Feeling affect the other human beings we interact with The extremes these negative feelings can be taken to Reflect the depths of the power of our intelligence unleashed As we incoherently and chaotically react to the programming Separated from any understanding that these intensities are power Ironically we find ourselves in a dimensional reality where we feel Powerless to deal with the various situation we find ourselves in That same power of our intelligence used coherently creates Our ability to generate our energy in ways that are healthier To the well-being of the earth and the evolution of human beings As human beings how we use our intelligence to perceive reality Dictates how we will use the power of our intelligence As human beings it is time to take responsibility for the power of our Intelligence and use the power of our intelligence to think coherently This isnt about whether we can or we cant This is about whether we will or we wont The miners are mining our human being as a way of eating our spirit These lines from a mined mind could be about spirit making an escape Or these lines could just be some of the crazy falling out of my head John Trudell Lines From A Minded Mind (Fulcrum Publishing, 2008) p. 1-4. youtube/watch?v=ANpSXFpd-xc&list=PL49E205A9B56C37F3
