This is the final day of four terrific years as the Ward - TopicsExpress

This is the final day of four terrific years as the Ward Councillor of Goolwa /Hindmarsh Island Ward of Alexandrina Council. There hasnt been one day where I regretted my decision. It has been a huge learning curve, and there were times I wished Id come to local council earlier. I have learned to trust myself in a way I dont think I have done before. Making decisions about issues which impact on others and their way of living has been daunting, and several of those decisions were mighty difficult, however I made them based on what I believed was fair to the whole of our community. What ever happens tomorrow after the counting of votes is OK with me. Win or lose I have had a great journey, met wonderful, generous people, I have been enriched and touched by the warmth of their actions. Thank you to all who have liked this page, offered your help, walked in the heat, and ridden your bike to drop flyers, talked to friends, taken flyers for shops and cafes, stopped me in the street ,on the beach, emailed, and phoned best wishes. To Bruce whos support I couldnt have done without and who has put up with my rantings and the need to TALK, To Amanda who calmly coped with my frantic calls to finish the flyer, take my photo, and change the flyer, and to Nick at Notable Imprint who reprinted the flyer and hasnt sent me an account YET, a million thanks. To Rebecca who is travelling from Roxby Downs this afternoon with the children to be with me tomorrow, to Chris for his supportive sms, Nigel who will work tomorrow as scrutineer and Thya for all the support along the way, a huge thanks. How anyone can manage with out family and friends is beyond me. Tomorrow we will celebrate whatever happens, I am an incredibly fortunate woman.
