This is the kind of SHITTY work Fleetwood Manufactures does!!! My husband and I special ordered a home from Fleetwood homes in McMinnville OR. in 2001. We recently had to replace ALL 3 of our vents....2 bathroom, one utility room. We noticed last year that our master bathroom ceiling was drooping (sagging). Soon, we noticed it was dripping water and had a black mold look to it. I had a friend of ours, whos also a contractor go onto the roof and take a look. He said that entire side of our roof needed to be replaced as there were at least 3 spots that felt mushy and had many shingles stacked in piles with nails sticking up. My husband said we couldnt afford to have the whole side repaired and decided to fix the spots himself. He noticed a spot that had NO WOOD under it, so he put extra shingles and a CRAP load of tar on it to stop the leak....which seemed to work as a temporary fix. This week, we had a contractor come out to work on the bad sheetrock in the ceiling. Today, this is what he found! A vent hose that not only goes NOWHERE, but is also TAPED OFF AT THE END!!! WTF would they go through the trouble of cutting the hole in the ceiling, putting a hose on it but NOT connecting it to ANYTHING?!?! Let alone TAPING OFF THE END?!?! So NONE of our vents have been working at all!!! The vents on top of the roof are purely for LOOKS!!! The hose will EASILY reach the vent holes but are NOT CONNECTED!! Ive learned that Fleetwood has had numerous problems and lawsuits for shoddy work. To me this is SHITTY work and COMPLETELY NEGLIGENT! Im so mad I dont know whether to pull my hair out, scream or just curl up in a ball and cry! Thank God its dry enough we can have our roof repaired. Even if it means taking out a loan....which we will have to do! If there are any EXCELLENT contractors out there willing to help...we are taking bids.
