Every public corporation must comply so they are all going to ask us if we employ any "Conflict minerals" in our process. UNBELIEVABLE! On August 22, 2012, the SEC adopted a rule mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act requiring companies that file reports with the SEC to investigate whether the products they manufacture or contract to manufacture contain Conflict Minerals, and to report on the source of those minerals. For the purposes of these regulations, “Conflict Minerals” means cassiterite, columbite-tantalite, wolframite and their respective derivatives – tin, tantalum and tungsten – and gold. The new reporting requirements reflect Congress’ concern that revenues obtained from the mining and transportation of Conflict Minerals finances the ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo (“DRC”) and the surrounding region and the resulting humanitarian crisis.
