This is the night youve been waiting for! Weve arrived at day 13, on Halloween, and at our final track! Tonights pick is track 13, Blood-splattered Rose from Splatterhouse: youtu.be/EpytRYIqeAc If there ever were a series of games that summed up Halloween, it would be the Splatterhouse games. They were just brutal, and that Genesis sound chip really helped send that creepy factor home. This piece is based off the ending of the original, literally named This is Happy Ending? - thats what we thought, too. Matthew really wanted this arrangement to turn into a full blown cheesy rock ballad, with the completely over the top guitar tone. I obliged him as much as possible. Fun Fact #1: The obnoxiously thick and shreddy tone for the song was done on my trusty fender tele - not usually the first thing youd imagine for something like this, but if it works, it works! You also may have noticed that the tag from Kiss From a Rose pops up often - but its already in the music! We couldnt help but exploit that - Fun Fact #2: This song was written BEFORE Seal released Kiss From a Rose in 1995. Maybe he was a fan of Splatterhouse? Makes sense. No guests artists on this final track, but now would a good time to remind you again of the amazing contributions we had to this album: Nathan McCleod: Tenor and Soprano Saxophone Anthony Lofton: Tenor Saxophone Adams Collins: Vibraphones Hannah Baxter: Fender Rhodes Ryan Cockerham: Violin Fernando Valencia: Aux Percussion Garrett Jones: Upright Bass Wed like to thank you all for keeping up with us for nearly two weeks on these releases! We are already working on the next big thing for The OneUps and hope youll be here when its ready. Ill remind you again that physical copies are available now: store.mustinenterprises/products/the-oneups-songs-for-the-recently-deceased/ Happy Halloween! Get out there and have a blast!
