This is the only known color footage of the ships approaching the beaches and landing craft under power on D-Day, 1944. Here you can see the faces of these heroes as they smiled, ready to meet their Maker if necessary to protect our liberty--the sons and daughters not yet born. We are so blessed to have had their courage, that of our parents and grand-parents. Yet, where is our courage for our children and grand-children? I truly believe one of the reasons the progressives (collectivists, communists, socialists and fascists) have waited until now to make their final push to collectivism here in the U.S., is that they realized that as long as that greatest generation was still with us, they would have no chance. With many of that greatest generation already passed, including my Naval Aviator father and WAVE mother, they simply decided to wait for the spoiled baby-boomer generation and following, to ensure the progressives success. At least in their minds they thought we would not wake up. They knew my generation, the baby boomers born from 1946 to 1964, would be the me generation that had to have things their way and would be the sucker generation, and their children, to accept the lies of collectivism. They knew this generation would be self-absorbed into their retirements and what they can get for themselves (not saying self-and-family preservation is unimportant, rather, that this must be accompanied by responsibility to uphold and defend our liberty). This self-absorption is made even more glaring a betrayal of our charter as citizens of the only Republic in history--where our liberties were acknowledged and protected as granted by the Creator, and not by the State (if the State or the powers-that-be are the grantors, then these same grantors can take away these liberties)--after our parents and grand-parents were willing to pay that ultimate price. I am glad I woke up to the progressive and collectivist elites games while Bush was in office (and to his role in same, as well). I hope and pray the baby boomers wake up before it is too late from their self-absorbed microwave and me generation slumber.
