This is the parents and siblings of Senator John Percival Jones. The father was Thomas Jones, b.1793 in Wales. The mother was Mary Ann Pugh, b.1802 in London, England. They were married in 1821 in Wales. Senator Jones was the fifth child, fourth son, and I am not sure which one of the older boys is him. There were 13 children in the family, 2 of which died young. The older lady is the mother of Mary Ann Pugh, and was born about 1777. To be honest, I dont remember if this was a painting or a black and white photo of a painting. The youngest child in the family was Frederick Kidson Jones, who later followed his famous brother to Santa Monica, as did much of the family. He was born in 1846 in Cleveland and looks to be about 3 in the picture, which would place it as being done in about 1849, probably just before John Percival Jones, and his next youngest brother, Henry, left for the gold fields of California, by way of an ocean voyage around the continent of South America. My sister Dolly or brother Dave may remember more details as to who is who in the picture.
