This is the point, Miliband. Stop sucking up to the City and the banks and stick up for the poor, alienated and disenfranchised. At the moment they are going to vote UKIP, if they vote at all. Get some decent policies and theyll vote for YOU! I quote: Ukips latest travails came as fresh survey work suggested many of its supporters could be described as holding left-wing views on equality and the state. The findings based on new data from the British Election Study will strengthen the hand of Blue Labour figures such as Jon Cruddas who believe Labour needs to focus more on conservative blue collar workers in social categories. Writing on Comment is Free, Rob Ford and Matthew Goodwin, the two leading academic analysts of Ukip write: An average of 71% of Ukip voters agree with five left-wing ideological statements, far above the Conservatives (43%) or even the Liberal Democrats (65%). They are only a little behind Labour (81%). The five statements are: Government should redistribute income from the better off to those less well off. Big business takes advantage of ordinary people Ordinary working people do not get their fair share of the nations wealth There is one law for the rich and one for the poor Management will always try to get the better of employees if it gets the chance The authors claim: When Ed Miliband argues that big business takes advantage of ordinary people, employees on zero hour contracts are being exploited by management, that the rich exempt themselves from the rules that apply to others, and that ordinary workers are not benefitting from a recovery for the rich, UKIP voters agree with him. They said: On these core economic issues, Farage and Ukip do not divide the right. They are dividing the left.
