This is the professional society that I was a member of in good standing for many, many years and where I got my certification as a Certified (precision) Mechanical Inspector (C.M.I./A.S.Q. are my official credentials since 1989). I see that now it is listed as C.Q.I. (Certified Quality Inspector) instead, on that Wikipedia page, but my certification says C.M.I. (Certified Mechanical Inspector). I used to go to the monthly meetings and even toured other manufacturing plants to see first-hand how they managed their Quality Control and Reliability Engineering tasks. I was particularly awed by the Hewlett-Packard medical device manufacturing plant in Andover Massachusetts that we had toured one month, where I saw the high speed Pick and Place Machines in action, stuffing small circuit boards with tiny surface mount components to prepare them for the next operation in a special wave-soldering machine and also another machine that uses nothing but water to clean them in an aquious board-cleaner conveyor system, too! It was very AMAZING to watch it all in person and lightning fast with positioning accuracies of 1/10th of 1 micron or 40 millionths of an inch (.00040)! And it was totally untouched by human hands in their automated computer-controlled process! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Society_for_Quality
