This is the reason I kneel in the presence of the Father from whom all the family in heaven and on earth receives its name. I’m asking God to give you a gift from the wealth of his glory. I pray that he would give you inner strength and power through his Spirit. Then Christ will live in you through faith. I also pray that love may be the ground into which you sink your roots and on which you have your foundation. This way, with all of God’s people you will be able to understand how wide, long, high, and deep his love is. You will know Christ’s love, which goes far beyond any knowledge. I am praying this so that you may be completely filled with God. ~ Ephesians 3:14-19 In the conclusion of Pauls prayer to the Christians in Ephesus he first ask that God strengthen them through the power of the Holy Spirit. Pauls hope is that as the power of the Holy Spirit takes more and more control of them that their resolve to maintain faith in Christ will grow. The stronger our faith is the more we realize that Christ is truly all we need. Then Paul prays that through the power of the Holy Spirit and their faith in Christ gets stronger they will begin to understand the extent of Gods love by which they (we) have been saved. If they can acknowledge or approve this love that they can not understand, if they could just experience the fullness of Christ love they will be filled to the vastness of Gods love, bringing with it all the gifts and graces God promised to extend to us and to Christ Bride the (C)hurch. The same is for us today, if we can give up control to the Holy Spirit we too can experience the fullness of Christ love! Are you ready?
