This is the same argument that is used today against Israel to persuade the global community. And Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the Ammonites, saying, What have you to do with me, that you have come against me to fight in my land? The Ammonites’ king replied to the messengers of Jephthah, Because Israel took away my land [which was not true] when they came up out of Egypt [300 years before], from the Arnon even to Jabbok and to the Jordan; now therefore, restore those lands peaceably. {Judges 11:13} The words Jephthah spoke to the enemies of Israel, who were trying to lay claim to the land and discredit Israels divine right to the land, speaks the Truth even now: For three hundred years Israel occupied Heshbon, Aroer, the surrounding settlements and all the towns along the Arnon. Why didn’t you retake them during that time? I have not wronged you, but you are doing me wrong by waging war against me. Let the Lord, the Judge, decide the dispute this day between the Israelites and the Ammonites.”{Judges 11:26} Simply phrased, for one thousand nine hundred and forty eight years while the tribes of Israel were scattered throughout the earth, why then didnt you retake and claim the land? But since they have been brought back (1948) to the land to posses, once again Israels enemies and scoffers desire to lay false claims against Israel.
