This is the second batch of ten. In this case I have long been familiar with all the films, and highly recommend each and every one. Of special note: The marvelous Universal Horror, “The Black Cat” that managed to retain its sinister-ness even as changing styles moved it into the category of camp. Both of the Romero’s were films of his that were dimly viewed by critics and audiences on first release, but steadily built up their reputations since. “Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer” similarly triumph over adversity (in this case MPAA censorship) and changed forever how cinema thinks about a subject. “Let’s Scare Jessica to Death” Remains unfairly obscure, and as a more traditional ghost-story, is something I believe should be particularly championed. timeout/london/film/the-100-best-horror-films-the-list?pageNumber=2
