This is the second recording of me entertaining in a Care Home & Nursing Home which I have made for my web site, sadly Im not allowed to video the residents so its only a sound recording. I hope you can get an idea of the atmosphere and fun we are all having and I cant start to tell you how fulfilling it is to perform at these homes? At a wedding I performed at two days ago in a very posh hotel I was asked by the guests what kind of other venues I perform in and I was quite proud to tell them that I am a Care Homes & Nursing Homes Entertainer and that its very similar to playing to happy and jolly wedding guests? Im Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter is a 1935 popular song with music composed by Fred E. Ahlert and lyrics by Joe Young. It has been recorded many times, and has become a standard of the Great American Songbook. It is one of several songs from the Harlem Renaissance featured in the Broadway musical Aint Misbehavin.
