This is the song that got Vince Guaraldi the job doing the music for the Charlie Brown Christmas special. While searching for just the right music to accompany the soundtrack, Lee Mendelson (the shows producer) heard a single version of CAST YOUR FATE TO THE WIND by the Vince Guaraldi Trio on the radio while traveling in a cab on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. While not in the soundtrack, “CAST YOUR FATE...” sounds like it could be from a deleted scene in the show. The network executives thought that the jazz soundtrack by Vince Guaraldi would not work well for a childrens program. When executives saw the final product, they were horrified and believed the special would be a complete flop.
