This is the story of one of our fans Ty Mallows Grandfather. -JH I have the privilege of calling this man my grandad. He was born in Bethnal Green in November of 1940. He was born in a bomb shelter and his father couldnt be at his birth because he was in the army. Because of the war, his sister was taken to a hospital and he didnt meet her until he was 3 or 4 years old. Years later, his brother and him were given a book all about different football clubs. He wanted to pick a team to support so he flipped through the book and picked Spurs. After that, he became a die hard Spurs supporter. When my mum and my aunt were born, he created them into Spurs supporters as well, taking them to White Hart Lane from time to time. It was on April 17th, 2010 when Spurs defeated Chelsea at home 2-1 that I became a Spurs supporter. I remember sitting down with my grandad watching the match and he told me loads of stories about how he found Spurs, growing up with Spurs, etc. In 2011 my grandad was diagnosed with alzheimers. I was extremely close to him growing up, so to hear this news was devastating. He was a brilliant chemist and did amazing work with ink. Once he came to the states, he created the silver ink for the Nordstroms boxes and bags. To see such a smart man get this evil disease, has been very hard. Before he was diagnosed, he would always tell me Before I die, I want to take you to White Hart Lane. The alzheimers has made him afraid to travel, so unfortunately, we havent gotten the chance to make it there yet. On my 18th birthday in November of 2013, I had the Spurs logo tattooed on my right arm. Not only for my love for Spurs, but mainly for my grandad. When he saw it, he lit up like a Christmas tree and was very happy that I did that. The disease has progressed very fast, and his memory has gone, but he hasnt forgetten his love for Tottenham Hotspur. We currently live in Oregon so when we found out Spurs would be playing in Seattle, Washington, we immediately bought tickets. To spend a day watching our favorite football team play right in front of our eyes, was absolutely breath taking and memorable. I was honored and proud to watch Spurs play with my grandad. I even made my fiancé a Spurs supporter that day as well. Ill never ever forget such a special day. COYS!!!
