This is the third month that the price of our light sweet crude - TopicsExpress

This is the third month that the price of our light sweet crude has nose dived-the prices of petroleum products around the globe have also taken similar trend- What is happening in Nigeria? We still buy the petroleum products from the pump at the price of crude oil as at august( thats about $100)!!.Haba and some one still says this is the best government!!! #DIARISGODOOO I remember clearly that the government wanted to remove the oil subsidy in 2012 but was met with a stiff resistance by the masses, now that subsidy payment is no more there as the refined products imported now pays for itself without the need for government intervention- As at now, only the federal government adjusts the pump price relative to the international oil price and the landing cost of the refined product-So no adjustment abi? #Continue . Sometime ago the late Yaradua reduced the price from 70 - 65 as a result of change in global prices.#UDOWELL But wait a minute! Do we rememember that diesel popularly called(AGO) has been deregulated for the past three years now and the last time I checked, it is still about when the price of crude oil was over $100!!!#CHAII What about kerosene thats supposed to be the opium of the massess- Despite government claims of subsidy the product still goes for between 140- 150N per litre(about $1).Yet Nigerians still kept mute and nobody asked questions!! Hmmmm!!! and as the attack dog would say: It is mere #Propaganda Elections are around the corner and some people are drumming support for the incumbent president of being the best man for the Job. I have some few questions to ask and if I find answers - i might as well agree with those people 1) What were the states of our refineries before he came into office? At least as acting president and full president, he ought to have full information about our refineries status. 2) Turn around maintenance, preventive maintenance and shut down maintenance are three major types of maintenance that are required on all equipment and facility- what are the histories viz a viz the monies allocated for such purposes at those times? 3) Who is responsible for the functionality of the refineries- the vp? the Oil Minister? NNPC? DPR? PPMC or the Ministry of Finance? 4)What has happened to the forensic auudit reports carried out bu KPMG et al on NNPCs books for the past 20 years or more of its existence-its books having not for once been audited by any government? I still have many more but this is just one out of many ills bedevviling this nation and once we get our energy sector right- So many other things will fall in place #surely. It is young peoples responsibility to get our nation to the right place- it is obvious the current breed of gladiators have nothing to offer. As for whom Ill vote for in february-? Ill keep that to myself and Ill advise that everyone go get their PVC- and Ileave you to your conscience. Im no agent or canvasser for a political party for now- That might change tomorrow! Its a new year- vote wisely and enjoy your next four years not to endure it.. Happy new year to all.
