This is the truth about POWER POLITICS.This is what my lecturer told me about Power politics. In late 80s lecturers would always go on strike for salary increment. So Mzee Moi decided to solve it. He called the Union officials to State House for a meeting. None of the union officials had gone to state house before so it was going to be their first time. It is said that 10 minutes to time Moi went to the far end of the room and sat down in an executive chair. To reach where Moi was sitting you had to walk for about 50 meters on the red carpet. It must be noted that those days not any other person could step on the red carpet. So when the Union officials arrived they were warmly received by the state house officials as they had been directed. It is said they were given a presidential reception. On reaching the room they found the red carpet which they walked on while heading to great Mzee Moi. When they were about to kneel down Mzee Moi stood from his chair and shaked their hands so they didnt kneel down. The union officials were later served tea and after the tea Moi asked them the grievances that they had and why they had stayed away from lecture halls. In unison they said Mtukufu Rais hatuna shida yoyote, Kesho asubuhi masomo yataendelea katika chuo kikuu
