This is the word that the Spirit gently spoke to me this morning - TopicsExpress

This is the word that the Spirit gently spoke to me this morning before daybreak: Before we come to know Christ, we lead lives of defeat because we are truly slaves to sin. However, after we are saved by entering into that relationship with Jesus, we are prone to continue to live lives of defeat and frustration (missing the incredibly abundant life that He promised us). This happens not because we are still slaves to sin, but because of our failure to believe. I saw a picture of Jesus huddled with His disciples after they had encountered difficulties asking them “why do you worry”… this asking after He had told them so many times not to worry. Even though they were in a face-to-face relationship with Jesus, they suffered from the same thing that you and I can suffer from today… failure to believe (or the sin of disbelief ). We can fail to believe in any situation (1) that Jesus is LORD over all and can do anything; (2) that He will do what He said He would do in and through us; or (3) that He really loves and cares about us and is indeed working ALL THINGS around us for good. Brothers and sisters in the Church, like the 12 disciples of Jesus, we are in an intimate relationship with the LORD. In spite of what we might see or feel today in the natural, let us believe (truly) on Him and therefore live the abundant life that He promised us. SELAH
