This is to all my FB friends over 30 (you know who you are): Isnt 90% of what we do on Facebook just like AOL circa 1997 minus the photos and videos? What is so original about Facebook? I mean FB PMng is literally identical to AOL IMng. And lets not forget AOL chatrooms. In many ways, those were more progressive than FB cuz unlike your FB news feed, you could actually choose the topic youre reading about. Sorry, but a lot of us dont care about what you had for dinner or what you scored on Candy Crush Saga (just like many of you dont care about this status). But unlike FB, everyone who owned a computer was on AOL. If you wanted internet access, you really had no choice but to be on it. Thats how AOL was able to get away with charging a hefty monthly fee.
