This is to bid a Eid Mubarak to all my friends and family , this will not be a happy Eid . Our children , mothers , sisters and brothers are being slaughtered in Gaza . Kashmiri Muslims are in no better condition. Muslims elsewhere , Myanmar Sri Lanka , Central Africa etc. are also faring poorly . We are unable to do anything to assist our fellow Muslims . This is a moment of deep shame and sorrow to me . We are expending our energizes in fighting each other in The name of sectarian rectitude , or ethic considerations. All prohibited by the Koran itself reiterated in the prophets pbuh last sermon . We need a Jihad, but this Jihad needs to be for knowledge,scientific development, correct and proper governance , social,justice. The Koran lays down principles that are valid for all times and these present to us the way , the method to obtain cohesion in society . Only such unbreakable bonds will make us strong. We were strong and dominant once, that was not due to the ferocity of our armies but due to this cohesive bond that removed fear of death and failure as society took care of the have nots and made provisions for those in need . You have courage when society assures you of the contained welfare of your loved and near ones . Remember Imam Ghazali who wrote an excellent book on the boundaries of religious tolerance in Islam . We were progressive and developed the scientific way of thinking, which Europe borrowed from us curtesy the failed Moorish, Arab Iberian Empire ( failure due to infighting and weakening of this bond that holds society together and makes it a living entity) . We need to rediscover this ability to think freely and innovate and invent and seek new Worlds. Remember Iqbal who sought such Muslims revival .
