After joining Churchill Brothers in the 2013-14 season, he found the back of the net 10 times during the last edition of the I-League and also played a vital role in guiding Churchill Brothers to be the Champion of the Federation Cup by scoring 4 goals in the tournament.Balwant Singh also has 3 goals to his credit in the AFC Cup 2013-14 playing for Churchill Brothers SC, taking his tally to 17 goals in the season. This prolific performance had earned him accolades as he was elected as the best Indian Player of the year for the 2013-14 season by Football Players Association of India (FPAI) held in Kolkata.Balwanthas also represented India in International matches making his debut for India B in 2010 against Kyrgyzstan and also for India U-23 team in the 2010 Asian Games and scored a goal in the team’s 4-1 victory over Singapore U-23.Before joining Churchill Brothers, Balwant Singh has also played in JCT (2008-2011) and Salgaocar (2013-2014).
