This is to remind you that there is a real need and not everyone asking for money is homeless. Please as I have always suggested. Offer water, socks, granola bars, and always prayers. If you feel compelled to give money, please give it to a group that will care for the needs of the truly needy. Ive been asked how much money I give to panhandlers. Answer $0. I have given cash over the years to those Ive met and have developed relationships with. That total would not add up to $30. I have on the other hand paid for dinners, hotel rooms, medications, and even a few bus tickets, but never blindly given people cash. Think about this, if they are really on the streets there is a good chance that they cannot manage money. So why give someone something they cannot handle. That is setting someone up for failure.
