This is to the Community Action Groups in Mobile, Al we are having a bad problem with the vacant lots and also the property that has run down houses it seams the money for the Weed and Seed program will be soon or has run out, we are having a problem maybe worse than ever before with grown up lots in our communities, at one time the city was able to come out and clean these lot and make the owner repay them, but lately this has not been working. I have been trying along with a lady who lives in a house next to a vacant lot, for almost a year to get it cut, we finally found the property owner and she is being served with notices to clean the lot or be fined and appear in court. If we can get the Group Leaders involved we can make something happen for the good of the city and the communities. In reality the city should not have to cut private property, but I know we always have free loaders but it is time to make these free loaders pay up. Grown up lots are health hazards and breeding places for Rats, Snakes, and other pest making a dangerous condition. When you have your meeting talk about this problem and also talk to your councilman about some way to get this problem taken care of. Good Luck D3 LLc
