This is true: FAITH FILLED WORDS. We’ve talked about the power - TopicsExpress

This is true: FAITH FILLED WORDS. We’ve talked about the power of our words, but let’s refresh. Much of faith has to do with words we speak. Our words have creative power. If you want to know who you will be 5 years from now simply listen to what you are saying about yourself now. You are creating with your words, your own future. Proverbs 18:20-21 From the FRUIT OF HIS MOUTH a mans stomach is filled; with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied. THE TONGUE HAS THE POWER OF LIFE AND DEATH, and those who love it WILL EAT its fruit. We do eat our words and they become our life’s harvest. What we allow to come out our mouths greatly determines what we eat in life. Words are like seeds, that go before you, planting your future for LIFE or for DEATH. So many people say, I’ll never get well. I’ll never get out of debt. It’s flu season. I’ll probably get it. This marriage is not going to make it. We went out and I overheard a woman say, I’ve been dying to see you! We say all sorts of negative even weird things and wonder why negative and weird things happen. It’s because people plant into their futures defeat, negative, and weird things. It seems we never associate the two. When you get up in the mornings, especially if you are going through a tough time, you need to send your words out in the direction you want your life to go. People say, This is going to be a lousy day. I hate my job. My spouse and I will fight again. Those kids are going to anger me again today. You used your words to describe and plant your situation. Instead, use your words to plant and change your situation. Instead, say, This is going to be a great day. Something about my job is going to fulfill me today. My spouse and I will have a great time being together. My children are the joy of my life. You might not feel like saying it, but either the Bible is true or not. Instead of using your words to bring bad, use them to bless you. Plant blessing, not cursing. I want to ask you, what have you been planting? What have you been speaking over your family, marriage, occupation, health, finances? It’s not enough to wish it, or think it. We give life to our faith by speaking it out. Speak out what you want. For example, your children may be as rebellious as can be, but when you are with people, don’t talk about how rebellious they are. Jesus said there is power in agreement. You can believe most people will agree your child is bad and rebellious. You’ve planted that child’s harvest. Instead, say, My child is blessed. They WILL MAKE good decisions. They WILL BE free from every stronghold. They WILL FULFILL their destiny, be successful, and have a great life. Speak victory over their lives. Plant a good future for them. Be like the Lord and speak what isn’t as though it is. Romans 4:16-17 THEREFORE, THE PROMISE COMES BY FAITH… THE GOD WHO gives life to the dead and CALLS THINGS THAT ARE NOT AS THOUGH THEY WERE. Notice the promise coming to pass and faith include calling things that are not as though they were. God showed us how to operate in faith. Don’t say, I’ve been hurting for years. I’m never going to get better. You are speaking defeat into your future. Put a positive slant to it and say, I’m not up to par, but it’s temporary. God is restoring my health. My best days are still ahead of me. Plant good things. How many have heard someone say something like, My child is so rebellious. He will probably end up in jail one day. What happened? Maybe someone said, Well, Granddaddy died of cancer and daddy died from cancer. I guess I will die of cancer too. What happened? My finances are getting worse and worse. I will probably go bankrupt. What happened? I don’t know about you, but I am not going to speak defeat over my life. You need to pay attention to what you are saying. Get people to help you. Ask them to tell you if you say anything negative. Don’t get upset with them when they say, You are talking negative. I’ve tried to help people adjust how they said things before and they would get aggravated with me and say, Well, it’s the truth! I sometimes wonder how they would like it if I agreed with them. Yes, you surely will go bankrupt. Yes, you probably will die soon. Yes, you will be divorced by this time next year. Yes, your child will go to prison and spend the rest of his life incarcerated. I’m not going to do that. The more we talk about being depressed, the more depressed we become. The more you talk about being overweight, the more out of shape you become. Switch over into victory. Talk about the way you want to be. Speak things that are not as though they were. Someone told me a few weeks ago, Delbert Young, you never cease to amaze me. The context was a media presentation I did. I replied, Well, sometimes I am amazing and sometimes I am awesome. My point is not to brag on myself. My point is how many of us are bold enough to say something complimentary about ourselves. Some people say, I can’t do anything right. What I do doesn’t matter. No one notices what I do. Don’t speak that over your life and into your future. Be bold to say, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Everything my hand touches prospers. Sometimes I am amazing and sometimes I am awesome. Another thing we need to do is teach our children to speak into their futures. We do this by telling them how they can do and be anything they want. We brag on them every opportunity we get. Judy was way ahead of me in this. Even before we came to the Lord and knew anything about faith, Judy was telling our children how good-looking and wonderful they were. We taught them to expect a great life with great spouses. I want to share with you a story I’m not proud of, but think it shows the impact our words have on our children. Our first house had a carport and I would pull our automobiles on the carport to work on them. I had an awful temper back then and my vocabulary overflowed with profanities. When things didn’t go well, I would beat the thing I was working with a hammer and cuss it. One day, Judy called me to the door and said, You need to come see this. I walked to the door and looked out. There was Lance, my son, about 4 years old, with a hammer, beating on his tricycle and cussing it using the same words of profanity I used when I cussed and beat things. Needless to say, my heart broke. I thank God he redeemed me and began training my tongue to direct my children toward an abundant life rather than a profane life. Watch your tongue around your children. Psalms 107:2 Let the redeemed of the LORD SAY SO, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; Why? Redemption has to do with your tongue. When we come to the Lord, we need to SAY SO. It doesn’t say, Let the redeemed of the Lord think so, or believe so. Something supernatural happens when we SAY SO. If you are going to redeem your marriage, SAY SO. If you are going to redeem your life from addictions, SAY SO. If you are going to redeem your finances, SAY SO. If you are going to redeem your health, SAY SO. If you are going to redeem your dreams, SAY SO. If you are lonely and want the right mate, SAY SO. Put your faith out there. Plant seeds into your future. Mark 11:23 I tell you the truth, if anyone SAYS TO this mountain, Go, throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but BELIEVES THAT WHAT HE SAYS will happen, it will be done for him. Don’t speak about your mountains. Speak to them. There is a correlation between the words we say, and what God does. People say, I won’t say the wrong kind of words. I won’t speak anything negative and that’s good. However, if you are going to move the mountains of life, you will need to go on offense with your words. Go on the attack. When you do, the Lord moves and protects you. Psalm 91:1-3 He that dwelleth in the SECRET PLACE of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I WILL SAY OF THE LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely HE SHALL DELIVER thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. Notice, this is a secret place. Not everyone knows about this place. Notice the process. I will say and He shall do. So, if I’m not saying, is he doing? If we read the passage in the reverse it would say, I will not say of the Lord and He shall not do. Some of you are not speaking enough victory over our lives. You wonder why you are not getting the breaks you want and why things go negative and weird. Are you declaring your future with positive seed words, or negative seed words? Well, Delbert, that’s all just positive confession and I just tell it like it is. I’m not saying deny the facts. I’m saying get in agreement with God. Joel 3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruninghooks into spears: LET THE WEAK SAY, I AM STRONG. We are not supposed to talk about the weakness and like it is. We are supposed to talk about how it’s supposed to be. If God says I am more than a conqueror, I might not feel like one and I might not look like one, but I am going to agree with God, not the devil. Delbert, I’ve been saying of the Lord, but nothing’s happened. Hebrews 10:23 Let us HOLD UNSWERVINGLY TO THE HOPE WE PROFESS, for he who promised is faithful. Don’t swerve. Don’t let go, of what you are professing in hope. God is faithful and those faithful professions will happen. You will eat the fruit of your words. You remember when Jesus cursed the fig tree. Nothing happened immediately in the obvious. The leaves didn’t fall off. The tree didn’t turn to dust. However, in the unseen realm, the root system was cut off. It was only a matter of time before what happened on the inside showed up on the outside. Later, the tree was dead. When you speak, you may not see anything immediately, but in the supernatural realm, something is happening. Often, people will step out in faith and begin declaring the things that are not as though they were, but when nothing happens, they become discouraged, decide it doesn’t work, forget, and eventually go back to speaking negative. You can’t talk sickness and expect to have health. You can’t talk lack and poverty and expect to have an abundance. HOLD UNSWERVINGLY! Put a gag over your mouth and do not speak negative unbelief. Years ago on a Wednesday night at the Assembly, a woman was coming. She said some negative things and showed up to church with duct tape over her mouth. I didn’t say a thing. I taught my lesson. I thought, If that’s what it takes… Zechariah 10:1 Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field. Why would the Lord tell people to ask for rain in a time of rain? Even when things are going well, don’t stop asking for more rain. Use your words to plant the grassy fields of your future. If you will get your words going in the right direction, you will begin to see obstacles that hindered you for years clear out of your path. You will see family difficulties that appeared permanent, turn around. Situations at work will heal. God will move the wrong people and bring the right people. Stop talking about your problem and begin talking to your problem. Call things that are not as if they were. God’s words coming out of your mouth is an amazing power. It’s not enough to think it or believe it. YOU GIVE LIFE TO IT BY SPEAKING IT OUT. SPEAK FAITH FILLED WORDS.
