This is upsetting. I wish we didnt keep animals in cruel captivity scenarios like this one. The woman who originally posted the video said the funniest thing ive seen. Its actually very sad. These tanks are small and these huge creatures are confined to swim around in circles day in and day out without regard to their intelligence or natural reliance on ocean waves, open space and cycles. The first time I went to Shedd Aquarium I was so excited to see the whales and the dolphins. I actually cried at the dolphin show. For some reason I didnt think about the cruelty of it, my mind was set only the magesty of the mammals and fish there. I remember posting pictures of it online and someone commented about how its cruelty. I defended the Shedd Aquarium and even deleted the person for trolling me!!!! But inside knew I was wrong and regretted being so naive and ignorant. What this Beluga Whale is doing is NOT natural. Its a sign of aggression from being held in captivity. Its actually potentially dangerous and very very sad.
