This is very disturbing. Anyone who knows me well, knows I cant quote Bible verses word for word, I dont go to church, I say curse words more than I should, I smoke cigarettes, and I fail to be a good example at times. BUT I am baffled at how anyone with any common sense cant see how taking God out of everything isnt causing harm to our country. I firmly believe that being One Nation Under God is what has allowed us to be a prosperous and free country for as long as it has. When we thank God for all of the blessings he has given us, He hears us, and continues to protect us and give us favor. A country without that protection is in big trouble. Its a scary thought. I know that a lot of people have been given a very bad example of what a Christian is and that may have formed a negative opinion. Maybe someone with a Jesus bumper sticker spewed hateful words or condemned you when they were actually living worse than you. Shame on them, they should remove that sticker! An easy way to think of God is as a parent. Just like we love our children, so does He. We love our children more than we love ourselves. Even when they disappoint us we still love them the same as before. When they push us away or show us disrespect, it takes Im sorry and we will still go to bat for them every time. But if they tell us to go away and have no desire to ever speak to us again, we have to honor that wish as well.
