In 2013, they took in 6925 cats, mostly strays and owner surrenders. They killed 2910 of them, that is 42% of them. The majority killed were sick - 844, next is owner surrenders, 689 of them, why? The cats were also killed for behaviour - 512, being feral - 228, old age - 192, orphaned kittens - 213, injured - 229, and only 3 for rabies testing. Taking a cat to TAS is a bad idea. At least they did adopt out 3004, only slightly more than they killed. Only 312 were returned to owner, and 570 transferred to partners. 20 went missing - how do you lose 20 cats? TAS a long ways to go, and trying to hide these practices will not help. If what happened at the Recovery Center is as described, it is reprehensible.
