This is video I took about this time last year, when I was on a trip to Israel as part of Project Interchange. We were on a hill with a view of the Gaza Strip, where this chime was built by a woman in honor of her son, who was killed in a helicopter crash during military training. The chimes sound so peaceful. The situation in Israel right now is tragic. What 99.9% of the people there want—whether they are Palestinians or Jews—is peace, to be able to live without worrying whether a bomb is going to land on their head, or if someone on the bus is going to blow themselves up. I dont know if the leaders on both sides of the conflict will ever be able to find their way to a solution that makes peace possible, but thats what I continue to pray for: Shalom.
