This is what I have learned this week: * Life is short. Embrace it. * Three words are important to say every day: I love you. * No matter how much I love my family and the home we have made, there is just nothing like walking into your childhood home knowing your greatest support team is there to love you unconditionally. (Thanks, Mom.) * There are some friends that you can lose track of, but even five years later you can pick up where you left off. * I remain ever grateful for my village. I love each of you. * My dad rocks. (So does Lauri Phelan, but thats another bullet point.) This week dad is driving the Russell bus. And, really, he makes it look effortless. (Of course, a little bribery to the kids -- like DQ -- will make any bumps disappear.) Plus he is managing the dog on top of it. * I appreciate each and every one of the people who volunteer because I ask. I know everyone is busy and saying no would be much easier. * People respond to focus, well thought out initiatives. * The West Wing remains my go-to background noise. I suspect it is so I can channel my inner CJ Craig. * Meeting a celebrity is always awesome. I just wish I could be a little less crazy about it. * Exercise may kill me, but I do feel better with a regular regime. * I am grateful that I have my own successful business that allows me to overcommit in other areas of my life. * My sisters are colleagues, friends, and just amazing. * My husband may be the smartest man I know. He is also an amazing leader and so many other things. Cant believe the 19th wedding anniversary is approaching. We must have gotten married when we were 12 or something. * My kids. Enough said. Except, it must be noted that there is nothing like the random text during the day that says, Hi mom. Hope you are a rock star today. Lastly, I appreciate the fact that Facebook gives me a chance to communicate with all of you. I have just violated something like 25 FB not to do rules, but for today -- so what.
