This is what Ive realized in these past few years... Domestic Violence is thing we say we despise, but the truth of the matter is that we are really a-okay with it, because as a society, we care more about jamming to this minutes newest poppin song (Chris Brown) and watching our *favorite* pastime (Ray Rice and all the other domestic violence stories that have come out of the NFL) than ACTUALLY caring about women. In fact, we care about DOGS (& I say that with a deep love for them) INFINITELY more than we care about women. Think Michael Vick and the OUTRAGE that followed his case about animal abuse - so much so that Michael Vick was suspended by the NFL, was ordered to pay the Atlanta Falcons back a portion of his earnings, and lost endorsement deals worth millions more. Oh & also keep in mind that there are 1,500 shelters for battered women in the United States whereas there are 3,800 animal shelters. Beyond over all of it... End Domestic Violence in the South Asian Community, Break the Silence Against Domestic Violence, STOP Domestic Abuse, The National Network to End Domestic Violence, Domestic Violence Crime Watch, Abuse No More, Stop Domestic Violence, National Domestic Violence Registry, Domestic Violence: STOP THE CYCLE!, Domestic Violence Affects Everyone, Womens Rights News, United Against Violence - Inspiring Women, Standing Up for them., I Acknowledge A War On Women Exists, HuffPost Women, The Global Fund for Women, Women, Action & the Media
