This is what a healthy 77 years YOUNG, 15 YEAR client of mine....LOIS ALTERMAN says about WHY she EXERCISES: In my 60s my GYN said I had the start of osteopenia in 3 different areas, and suggested taking medication to keep it from progressing. The alternative was to strength train. I liked that alternative much better, and luckily discovered Karen Webster of The Body Works Studio. In the 15 years I have been under her care, my osteopenia has been reduced to only 1 area, and improving all the time. My aching back is no longer aching, and the rotator cuff issue in my shoulder is no longer problematic. At 77 my bodyfat levels are at about 15%, my weight is good, and my feeling of energy and well-being are excellent! Karen made me aware of the synergy of eating supportively, strength training, and moderate cardio exercise. Dont think that I like to exercise, I am not a jock! I moan and groan before my workout, but I look at it as a needed Doctors appointment, and know it will keep me feeling well and strong. That old saying, You lose it, if you DONT use it, really is true. But, even if you have lost it, it comes back with proper nutrition and exercise! There is nothing that gets rid of the blahs faster than getting your body moving. I know we all look for a quick fix, but instead we should be looking more for a real life change. Dont diet. Eat healthy. Dont complain about exercise. Just do it. It doesnt take long, to start feeling better. AND peppy is better than poopy! As you see...Lois A is awonderful example of a responsible person. I truly applaud her by taking the bull by the horns....made lemons out of lemonade, and took a proactive approach to her health. I am thankful to work with individuals who see merit and investment in their vitality and well-being!
