This is what a social studies inquiry lesson looks like in action. Students are applying prior knowledge of climate, landforms, economy, and resources to place information cards for the Northeastern Region of the United States. Prior to the lesson we talked about rules for Socratic thinking and logical reasoning aka defending your answer. Students related information they learned in 4th grade to create generalizations about the information and place it accordingly. They didnt have any lessons about the Northeast Region prior to this activity, but through personal experiences, prior lessons and a little bit of common sense they were able to figure out the puzzle. Happy Tuesday!
