This is what a student wrote to me today: Dear Mrs. Penn, Thank you for teaching us everything. P.S. Your name is what Im using right now (she wrote it in pen)! and your name sounds cool! awesome! Thanks for everything. Im sure if I pass third grade, its because of you, but if I dnot, its because of me! your my ice to my cream. my star to my burst. my wheel to my barrow. my earth to my quake. Sincerely, Cant use her name I need these little reminders right now! Sometimes I feel taken for granted, but little gestures like these give me reason to know that my students do appreciate me. This note cracked me up. Third graders are awesome!
