This is what happens when you leave your pet at the shelter. Your pet doesnt get snatched up and adopted by someone else. Your pet gets killed. And depending on where you live, your pet either gets killed within a couple of weeks or a couple of months. If the latter, your pet goes from living comfortably in your home with you, where she knows and is comfortable with her surroundings to a crowded, smelly, noisy place filled with other peoples discarded pets. Your pet then gets to spend her last days scared, alone and confused as to what she did wrong to deserve such treatment. Pets are not furniture to be discarded. Pets deserve better than this. Dont get a pet in the first place if youre not committed to caring for her for the rest of her life. No ifs, ands or buts.
