This is what is going on other Sierra Leone forums about the Diaspora Initiative Project ____________________________________________________________________ On Thu, Mar 20, 2014 at 7:30 PM, Ahmed Kanu wrote: SIERRA LEONEANS ARE INTENSIFYING THE DIASPORA INITIATIVE PROJECT: PIONEERS FIRST MEETING WAS A SUCCESS The Diaspora Initiative Project (DIP) website is diasporainitiative to register and become one of the stunning patriots in the Diaspora to move Sierra Leone increasingly toward the positive and vigorous Agenda for Prosperity in our beloved country. The vision of the DIP is for all Sierra Leoneans to gain access to our voting rights in Sierra Leone while living in the host country. When the Initiative becomes a law of the land, there are possibilities for the process to be established and manipulated at every Sierra Leone Embassy world-wide. Can this be made possible? Indeed, only if Sierra Leoneans in the Diaspora are ready to let it happen and our legislators will be pragmatic to rectify and amend such rights for the common good of all Sierra Leoneans. Retrospectively, all Sierra Leoneans should take this initiative very seriously and register in the website regardless of our differences in whatever affiliations. There is one Sierra Leone for all Sierra Leoneans including our voting rights that should enable all Sierra Leoneans in the Diaspora to participate in the political spectrum of the country. The DIP pioneers held their first meeting on Sunday March 16, 2014 to strategize undertakings of the movement to gain momentum and move forward until the expected signatures and modalities are in place. Next, the package would be prepared diligently and respectfully forwarded to our legislature in Sierra Leone for approval and amendment. Certainly, this is a Diaspora Suffrage galvanizing the drive for Diaspora Voting Rights of all Sierra Leoneans world-wide. It is politically worthwhile for all Diasporas to anticipate and participate in the franchise to elect our parliamentarians and presidents. Why not? Retrospectively, I appeal to all Sierra Leoneans to register under the banner of PATRIOTISM to intensify our interests and love for our country. In lieu of the success of the first meeting which was attended by a rational representation from different parts of the country including party affiliation was a complete success. The atmosphere was absolutely patriotic. It is unbelievable to know and experience the power of patriotism in a people eager to see their country move forward toward this direction. We’re looking forward to hold a grand general teleconference meeting likely in April when the time and date are confirmed by the DIP leadership. The schedule will be posted in the various forums and newspapers. Finally, it is with honor to express appreciation to the participants and key speakers at the meeting. As well, we are grateful to all those patriots that dreamt of this vision ahead of us. Their influence has empowered our abilities and capabilities to move the vision toward becoming a movement and reality. Ahmed Kanu, Acting DIP Secretary Columbus, Ohio
