This is what right looks like! A big DUTY FIRST to the Soldiers of the 1st Sustainment Brigade for completing their 1000 STRONG Challenge today in the Kansas state capital. Soldiers were given a goal of volunteering 1,000 hours and collecting 1,000 items for organizations in the Topeka area. More than 200 Durable Soldiers volunteered today at Harvesters Community Food Network, Topeka Rescue Mission, YWCA of Topekas Center for Safety and Empowerment, Colmery-ONeil VA Medical Center, Meals on Wheels. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Kansas and several Topeka Public Schools. “We volunteer a lot,” 1st Lt. Reuben Hollins said. “All you have to do is point us in the direction, and we’ll go.” Leaders of the Big Red One challenge detachments, companies, batteries, squadrons, battalions and brigades to follow the Durables example and make a significant impact in their communities this holiday season.
