This is what the “new” Golden Gate Bridge looks like. It reopened this morning with the new median barrier running down the middle of the bridge. I got the first three pictures off of David Yu’s website. (I’ll explain the fourth picture in a moment) The guy has a great eye. And there are a lot more of these pictures on his site. https://facebook/davidyuphotography?fref=photo I’m totally in favor of the median barrier. I’ve covered too many head on collision during my career. But I have to be honest. I’m not crazy about the color of those barriers. Especially compared to the color of the bridge. Maybe I’ll get used to them. But I wonder if they would ever consider painting them orange like the rest of the bridge. I can’t tell whether that would look spectacular or silly. What about you? Now to that fourth picture. Susan Leatham sent it to me this morning. She said: “I was lucky enough to be one of the first people on the GG Bridge when it reopened. What a surreal and eerie feeling going across by myself.” How cool is that. Im hoping there some others out there with pictures or stories about either the new or the old bridge.
