This is whats wrong with PAGASA. When everybody else - and all other major international weather agencies at that - are posting updates about impending danger, it posts something generic like this: [my personal comments in brackets] Issued at 5:00 p.m., 03 December 2014 Valid beginning: 5:00 p.m. today until 5:00 p.m. tomorrow. Synopsis: Northeast Monsoon affecting Northern and Central Luzon. [What?!Who cares about the monsoon for goodness sake!!! Then the next sentence, as if an afterthought!] Meanwhile, at 4:00 PM today, the center of typhoon with international name HAGUPIT was located based on all available data at 1,278 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur (8.5ºN, 137.9ºE), with maximum sustained winds of 160 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 195 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 30 kph.[Whew! Finally they talk about the coming typhoon but simply states position, etc most likely copied from other weather agencies.] Forecast: [This one beats them alll! Its supposed to be a forecast WARNING the public of the coming typhoon and yet it resorts to their standard format of reporting (go ahead and fill in the blanks for the region, city, etc. experiencing cloudy skies blah blah blah!!!] Eastern Visayas, CARAGA and Davao Region will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies with light rains. The regions of Cordillera, Ilocos, and Central Luzon will experience partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated light rains. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to east will prevail over Luzon and eastern section of Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas. God bless the Philippines! :( Original post of PAGASA here >>> pagasa.dost.gov.ph/weather/daily-weather-forecast
