This is why I go nuts when daycare families are late. I imagine them in a ditch or forgotten in a car. I hate calling them and sounding like a crazed nut but I always wonder if I could save their life by alerting their family or by reminding a mom or dad that their child is in their car. One time, a mom didnt show after she asked me to bring her son early for a meeting. I called and called her w no answer. I packed every child up and drove to her house and banged on the door until she answered. She had a diabetic episode and had gone into a deep sleep. She hadnt left her child in a car or driven off the road but she couldnt wake up because of a medical concern. We need to check on each other any time we think of it. We cant be concerned w the person being offended. They just might be thankful! This problem of children dying in hot cars is terrible!! I wish this was not a problem.
