This is why I love JT65 and other digital modes... Today I got the wild idea to setup a worst case scenario receiver with some spare equipment I have laying around. It is a 12 CB antenna (with a damaged cable), A-Static PDC-5 11-meter tuner (works on 10m just fine), Realistic HTX-100 Xcvr, salvaged ATX power supply all feeding a Acer Aspire One for decode. Despite the absolutely horrid setup it is still decoding signals up to 1500 miles (~2400km) away! Normal rig on 10m inverted V out in a tree added for comparison. 8-)
