This is why people do not trust the NYPD. One of my friends, Jonathan Yonge, was arrested by undercover police without cause, was not read his rights, not to mention, was searched for contraband, and nothing was found. He was later beaten by 6 policemen in the 102nd Precinct. He has bruises on his shoulder and face from the beating, which occurred with his hands handcuffed. Im not saying that I hate the police. Im not saying this happened because of his color or race or ethnicity or creed. Im most certainly not saying that people should harm the police. But this is why people do not like the Police Department in the Greatest City in the World, this is why people call cops pigs. They abuse their power and assault unarmed teenagers who do not pose a threat. New York and New Yorkers deserve more than this. Fix the NYPD.
