This is why we refuse to live in a HOA neighborhood. In the neighborhood we live in there is a couple who have been trying to force an HOA onto all of us. Some have joined but the vast majority like us have refused membership. They have even tried intimidation that we didnt have a choice, less than 1/4 have joined. The couple have declared themselves as president and vice president plus treasurer of their HOA. The state district atty said they are not a valid HOA and are out of requirements to have a non- interested third party as funds auditor. I asked the couple about this finding and they claimed they were in compliance. I passed on to neighbors my findings and the state number to verify the info. Their membership numbers dropped.
