This is with regards to the movie “12 Noon”, a short film made by BALCONY BOYS ( Our Production company) I would like to bring to your attention the following points on which the film’s USP lies. 1. This film “12 Noon” is a 18 minute short film starring Mr. Y.Gee.Mahendra, Mr.Kavithalaya Krishnan etc. The music for the film is being scored by Nivas K.Prasanna and the PRO is Nikil Murugan. 2. Our fundamental aim is to bring recognition to the Short Film Space. 3. This is probably the first time that a short film is being promoted aggressively. Normally it is only the standard feature film that gets it’s due promotion be it through the print/visual or any other media. The primary reason being either short films have a restricted budget or the film maker themselves don’t believe that it has it’s own space. 4. This film is being promoted typically like a regular normal feature film. Medias Used: i) Print media - The Hindu, The Times of India, and Dinamalar. ii) Wall Posters – Covering Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Thirunelvelli. iii) Complete social media marketing through FB/ What’s App/ Bulk SMS/ E-Mail/ Twitter. iv) Press conference – 11th of April at Prasad Lab organized by PRO Mr.Nikil Murugan. v) Road shows in Chennai. In-mall branding and promos. vi) Trailer DVD distribution to corporate. vii) Special show screening through theatrical release on the last week of April (Censor Certificate has been applied for). viii) World Wide Web launch on later date. ix) Radio commercial through leading channels. x) Teaser ads in TV channels. 5. The genre of the film is an emotional drama. 6. The entire cast and crew are experienced and well recognized professional unlike other short films, which generally tend to use a large set of amateurs (This is a generic observation rather than a specific mention). Our objective through this attempt is nothing more than proving or probably establishing 3 critical points. A. Short films can have quality and attract mass. B. Time has come for short films to get it’s due C. Promotions will work and should be done in the “Short Film Space”.
