This is worth watching. It got me to thinking a lot about different scenarios. For those unfamiliar, this is related to the shooting of Dontre Hamilton in Milwaukee. Google it, dont feel like writing multiple books here. As far as this clip goes though, he was addressing protesters in Milwaukee and took a call on his cell phone in the middle of it. Why would he do such a callous thing? Because it was a call regarding a kid getting shot. But watch it. It is extremely refreshing to see a public official, especially a police chief, who actually gives a shit, and has passion for his job. And is also not sugar coating or using carefully crafted PR speeches. And what he is saying, like it or not, is simply fact. Which made me realize a few things that until now I never really thought about. A white cop kills a black man, and thousands nationwide protest, till ultimately we have Ferguson. But in black communities, black on black murders, kids and mothers killed in drive-bys, that happens all the time, weekly, in some cities daily. So why arent there massive gatherings and protests against the people who cause this, bangers, dealers who run poor communities? If you can get this many thousand people out for one protest against the death of someone in your community, why cant you turn it back into your own community and start to push out a major component at play? Im not naive enough to think it would be that simple. I know gangs would not leave easily, or just disappear, and would react with violence. But enough united to constantly make it a problem, to help police isolate the killers and violent people, be on them every day till they can no longer run shop...show the little kids its good to have pride and be against violence against your own people and against *any* people. Its just somewhat sad when people can kill their own, so to speak, and have gotten to the point, through dozens of factors for decades and decades, that it doesnt raise this much action. https://youtube/watch?v=T7MAO7McNKE
